Mr. McNatty has 40 years of construction and project management experience as a consultant, contractor, chief estimator, construction manager and project manager. He also has 30 years of experience designing and implementing automated project control, estimating and costing systems in a wide variety of environments. He developed one of the first project administration software packages used on Los Angeles public works projects and has been instrumental in the design of nationally marketed software for cost estimating, scheduling, project management and cost control.
Mr. McNatty regularly lectures at local universities and industry associations on project control system automation, “best practice” processes for project controls and the impact of emerging technologies on how projects are managed. He is a Primavera Certified Trainer and Oracle Certified Implementation Specialist for P6 and Contract Management. He designs technology solution applications for project management business issues. His hands-on experience ranges from operating construction equipment and working as a field superintendent, to managing construction businesses, and designing and implementing integration technology solutions for billion dollar capital programs. He has pioneered the deployment of remote access/Web/Internet-based project management systems for the past 25 years in real project environments and currently leads a team of over 50 individuals executing the reality of his vision of “virtual project controls.”
Don is an AACE Certified Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) and a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International. In June of 2015, Don was awarded the O.T. Zimmerman Founders Award by AACE in recognition of his exemplary service and contributions to the Association.
As President and Chief Executive Officer, he is responsible for business strategy, leadership, and day to day management of the DRMcNatty & Associates management team.
